During public input the following students from the Colleton County FFA Chapter presented words of thank you to the school board for supporting their chapter: Isabella Padgett (Sentinel), Mackenzie Elliott (President) and Marissa Goettee (Vice President).
Superintendent Jessica Williams shared the following student recognitions for the month of January: BSECC – Frederick Dantzler, BES – David Knight, CES – Samuel Price, FHE – Psalm Robinson, HES – Hayden Roberts, TCTC – Matthew Rhodes.
During the school board appreciation celebration, the following students assisted with gift presentations to the school board members: Colleton County High School NJROTC cadets, FFA students from Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center and Hendersonville Elementary safety patrol students with Easton Moore speaking on behalf of HES.
Ms. Avant shared "I want to give a shout-out to NES and all the staff for their hard work in making the holidays so magical. From decorating the halls, to hosting a cinema day, to Shark Bucks visiting our classroom, there are so many positive things happening. These efforts truly make a huge difference in both student and staff morale."

The Colleton County Middle School Young Authors Program, led by Mrs. Sheila Keaise, included students from 6th, 7th and 8th grade. During their presentation, the following students received recognition: Maylin Montiel, Jasmine Cheryl Asango, Kristen Josh Ebanks, Lois Agbley-Oyeh, Ana Temoxtle, Lilianne Eureka Castro, Giselle Miguel, Abigail Tingle, and Liliana Marcial Bartolo. Mrs. Keaise shared each student's published story. Several students had the opportunity to speak about their story. The evening began with prelude music from the Band of Blue Pep Band followed by the opening statement from Dr. Cordelia Jenkins. The CCHS Chorus Ensemble shared two musical selections. Mrs. Lynn Stroble presented the invocation followed by the CCHS NJROTC Color Guard who performed a Presentation of Colors. Mr. Chris Horvath presented the welcome speech for the evening. Mrs. Jessica Williams, Superintendent, provided recognitions for all of the special guests in attendance. There was also a presentation from State Superintendent, Mrs. Ellen Weaver, who provided special words of encouragement for our district. Mr. Glenn Nixon provided the celebratory remarks and Mrs. Janis Headden announced the academic recognitions.

Colleton County School District would like to extend a special appreciation to: Band of Blue, CCHS Choral Ensemble, CCHS NJROTC, BES Young Men's Club, BES Princess and Pearls and COE Event Volunteers.
On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, Colleton County School District held the regular school board meeting. This meeting included student, staff and community recognitions along with some informative presentations from the Colleton County Middle School science department and Colleton Academy for Success.
The Mission Statement was presented by the following NJROTC cadets from Colleton County High School: Cadet Green, Cadet Bellinger, Cadet Blair and Cadet Garvin.
The following students received recognitions for going above and beyond: BSECC - Kiara Jones, BES - Giovanni Perez, HES - Jailyn Gordon, NES - Ada Harmon, TCTC - Joseph Linder, CALC - Felicia Presley.
The following staff members received recognitions for going above and beyond: BSECC - Terri Samples, BES - Domincio Williamson, HES - Elizabeth Glaze, NES - Miriam Rosete, CCMS - Audrey Ruth, TCTC - Queen Reed.
Special recognitions included: Chief Kenneth Delee with the Colleton County High School NJROTC program and Coach Kendrae Hiers who received the Regional 6-AAAA Coach of the Year for girls tennis at Colleton County High School.
The district also recognized community members, Phillip Taylor and Ashley Bowers with Genesis Healthcare for their continued support and contributions to the Colleton County School District. Some of the recent contributions included $2000.00 toward the Educator for a Day event, $1500.00 to Federal Programs for the upcoming Cocoa and Mittens event and $5000.00 to the Athletic Department. Mr. Phillip Taylor was also recognized for his community contributions with Saints Center Ministries.
Mrs. Amy Bondy and Mrs. Chastity North from Colleton County Middle School provided a hands-on presentation demonstrating the BLAST (Building Leadership Among Science Teachers) Program initiated through Clemson University.
Last but certainly not least, we had a fantastic presentation from the Colleton Academy for Success. Dr. Ron Youmans (Director) introduced Mrs. Jamie Stephens (Professional School Counselor) and McKenzie Newby (student) who spoke about all of the great things happening in the CAS program.

During the November 18, 2025, Regular Board Meeting, the greeters included students from Black Street Early Childhood Center and Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center. These students also read the mission statement and shared some information about their program.
