Tuesday, July 22, 2025, marked an exciting beginning at Colleton County School District as the Department of Human Resources welcomed more than 50 new teachers and staff members during the annual New Teacher and Staff Orientation.
This multi-day event offers new employees a chance to connect with fellow educators and staff while receiving essential information and resources to prepare for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year.
The orientation kicked off with a warm welcome from Director of Human Resources Wilsey Hamilton, Coordinator of Teacher Effectiveness Catherine Fanchette, and Assistant Superintendent of Operations Dr. Martin Wright. Afterward, new team members rotated through a series of onboarding sessions led by various district departments.
The Information Technology Department issued employee ID badges, access credentials, and technology devices, as well as provided an overview of the digital tools and resources available in district classrooms. In the Benefits session, new hires received detailed information about available benefits and completed enrollment paperwork.
Following the morning sessions, new employees enjoyed lunch and had the opportunity to meet with local vendors who were on-site to share community resources and welcome them to Colleton County. The day concluded with school site visits, giving staff a chance to see their classrooms and begin preparing for the year ahead.
Orientation activities will continue throughout the week with presentations and training sessions led by various departments. The event will conclude on Friday with a Welcome Breakfast hosted by Superintendent Jessica Williams to celebrate the start of a promising new school year.
