Mrs. Kristina Wallace has 14 years of experience in Food and Nutrition and is now a valuable member of the Colleton County School District team. She earned her bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition from Fort Valley State University and her Master's degree in Education with a concentration in Nutrition Education from Framingham State University. Mrs. Wallace has extensive experience working with state and federally-funded programs. Before her current role, Mrs. Wallace held key positions, including serving as an interim director over two departments (Food Service and Housekeeping) for the State of South Carolina. She also worked as a training specialist for the Bibb County School District/Student Nutrition Department, where she managed the training for a department of 300+ employees. Mrs. Wallace strongly believes that proper nutrition is crucial for not only physical health but also cognitive development. She is passionate about ensuring every child has access to essential nutrition to thrive, learn, and reach their full potential. Outside of her professional endeavors, Mrs. Wallace enjoys making precious memories with her family, cooking, refurbishing furniture, and exploring new culinary experiences.

The Student Nutrition Department serves 9 schools in the district, and prepares approximately 6500 meals per day, including breakfast and lunch.
We also offer "smart snacks" for all after-school programs. We operate under the Community Eligibility Programs (CEP) which allows all students to eat at no cost.
Our goal is to provide the highest quality, nutritious school meals for our students according to strict USDA guidelines to ensure all students achieve at high levels while promoting healthy lifestyles.
