Law Enforcement Services courses will begin being offered in the fall semester at Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center. The program, part of the South Carolina Department of Education’s Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security career cluster, is offered as a result of a collaboration between Colleton County School District, the City of Walterboro management, and Colleton County officials.
Courses will be taught by Aretha Bright who has previously served as a School Resource Officer with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office as well as a Law Enforcement Instructor at Beaufort-Jasper County’s Academy for Career Excellence.
Course progression – Introduction to Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security (1 credit)
Law Enforcement Services 1 (1 credit)
Law Enforcement Services 2 (2 credits)
The program is open to sophomore through senior students. Any student wishing to be a part of the Law Enforcement Services program should contact their guidance counselor at Colleton County High School.
