CCMS Graphic Design & Media Arts Spotlight 🎨
CCMS’s new Graphic Design & Media Arts class has been hard at work showcasing their Promotional Flyer Projects!
Each student was tasked with creating a flyer to promote a business, brand, product, or cause of their choice using Canva. Under the guidance of their instructor, Mr. Reid, students weren’t just challenged to design a flyer—they were encouraged to think like entrepreneurs and consider how their ideas could grow into real small-business opportunities.

At CCMS, we are proud to highlight our amazing athletic program! Last night, our Lady Cougars Volleyball Team opened the season in dominant fashion, defeating Ridgeland in a double-header sweep — winning four straight matches. These young ladies truly shined as they played with heart, hustle, and Cougar pride. Under the leadership of Coach Tina Warren and Coach Keisa Brown, their teamwork and determination were phenomenal.
Great job, Lady Cougars, on starting the season with a big victory!

Interim Reports will be sent home on Thursday, September 4th. Each student will receive two copies:
One copy is to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to your child’s homeroom teacher.
The second copy may be kept for your records.
We strongly encourage parents to reach out to their child’s teachers if there are any questions or concerns regarding grades. If you would like to schedule a parent conference, please contact our school secretaries, and they will be happy to assist you with scheduling.

Thank you to all of our parents who attended our Gifted and Talented Parent Forum this evening. We were excited to share how our GT program is structured, how our teachers are challenging students’ thinking, and the ways we are continuing to grow the GT program here at the middle school.
A special thank you goes to our dedicated teachers and leadership team for their support and to our district GT Coordinator, Mr. Jake Jacobs, for facilitating the session and answering parent questions.

Congratulations to this week's “Tell Me Something Good” drawing winner Ms. Crystal Grant from Hendersonville Elementary School. Ms. Grant's Tell Me Something Good" was “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think, and Loved more than you'll ever know." Congratulations and keep up the great work!
The students from the Tech 2 classes at Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center have been working on the administration vehicle and other teacher vehicles in order to gain experience and use of the new tools the class has been receiving. The instructor, Mr. Brian Wilson stated, "the shop is starting to become a top notch learning facility." Great job to these students and staff at TCTC. Keep up the great work!!

A parent meeting for multilingual students is scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2025 in the district office boardroom. This is a great way to connect with other parents and learn how to support your child's growth and discuss important information to help your child succeed.

Today, we are excited to highlight Mrs. Glover’s 7th Grade Art class! Students were hard at work on their Color Wheel Projects, which help them:
✨ Build creativity
✨ Strengthen decision-making skills
✨ Learn color theory (primary, secondary, & complementary colors)
✨ Create visually appealing and harmonious designs
Projects like this show how our students are growing as artists while applying skills that connect to real-world design and problem-solving.

We are thrilled to highlight Mrs. Griffiths’ 6th grade Science class! Our students were actively engaged in building water cycle models, bringing science concepts to life. Creating models helps make abstract ideas tangible, strengthens critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and encourages collaboration and engagement. A huge shout-out to Mrs. Griffiths and her amazing students for their hard work and creativity.

We are so excited to highlight our 7th grade ELA students! Recently, our teachers, counselors, and instructional coach collaborated to design a powerful writing project that educated students on the dangers of vaping.
This collaboration was not only meaningful, but it also aligned directly with our ELA writing standards. Students strengthened their critical thinking skills by citing evidence to support their claims, while teachers provided ongoing feedback to help them improve their writing. Great job to our counselors and instructional coach for providing their expertise in the development of this project.
We are proud of our 7th grade ELA team for creating such an authentic and impactful learning experience for our students!
