CCSD Returns to In-Person Learning Sept. 13

CCSD Returns to In-Person Learning Sept. 13
Posted on 09/09/2021

Colleton County School District  is ready to Return to Learn in-person on Monday, September 13.

Protecting our community while we make this transition to fully in-person instruction remains our top priority. To that end, CCSD will continue to utilize the following practices:

  • Students, staff members and visitors are required to wear a mask on district properties and school buses.
  • We will encourage district employees and students to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. We will work with regional healthcare providers to schedule vaccine clinics that can be hosted in our facilities.
  • Desk shields/barriers will be used in all classrooms.
  • Schools and buses will be cleaned daily, and comprehensively disinfected once per week.
  • Air purifiers will be placed in all CCSD classrooms, offices and media centers.
  • Students and visitors will undergo temperature checks upon entering district properties.
  • Rapid COVID-19 testing will be available for symptomatic students and staff. CCSD is planning to establish mandatory testing procedures for all district staff who are unvaccinated.
  • Social distancing will be enforced on district properties where possible. Hallways have been labeled to ensure proper distancing as students transition between classes.
  • Water fountains will not be in operation on district properties, but the water bottle filler stations placed at schools will still be in use. Water bottles are available for students when requested at their school’s main office.
  • The quarantine period for students and staff has been changed from 14 to 10 days, based on shortened quarantine guidance released by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
  • The district is continuing to explore providing a virtual learning option for our students.
