Spring 2010
Long time principal, Mr. Harry Jenkins,
retired from the Colleton
County School
District.
He taught at Smoaks Middle School, then went to Walterboro
High School for 2 years, returned to
Smoaks Middle
School as Principal, and then moved to the old Ruffin High School,
which became Ruffin
Middle School.
Have a great retirement, Mr. Jenkins!
Also, retiring were: Mrs. Janet Strickland, 8th grade
Science, Mrs. Martha Johnson, Guidance Counselor, and Ms. Queen Bowman,
Career Education. Ms. Anna Voinea, Self-Contained teacher, also,
moved on from our family.
Ms. Cordelia Jenkins and Mr. Michael
Thomas were named the new Principal and Assistant Principal for Ruffin
Middle. Ms. Jenkins will also be
serving as Principal for Bells Elementary.
Mr. Thomas was an Assistant Principal at Colleton Middle School
before coming to Ruffin.
Summer 2010
Ruffin Middle School makes AYP (Adequate
Yearly Progress) for the second year in a row!!!
August 2010
The new school year begins with new
staff members to Ruffin Middle.
Joining us this year are Mr. Shane Peek, 8th grade Science,
Ms. Gloreybel Abelita, Self-Contained, and Ms. Marissa Jones, Guidance
Counselor.
