Library Media Center Policies

Students are invited and encouraged to use the Library Media Center.  Student behavior should reflect an atmosphere conducive to learning.

PASS:                                                                                                                                                                     

  • Not required before or after school

  • Required for individual students during the instructional periods of the day.

  • Presented upon entering to the library media center circulation desk.

NO FOOD, DRINK, OR CANDY IS ALLOWED IN THE LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER

COMPUTER USE:

  • User must have a signed Acceptable Use Policy  form (AUP) on file in the Library Media Center to use the Internet.

  • Users are required to log in and out at the circulation desk when using computers or media center.

  • E-mail is allowed before and after school.

  • Chat room, forum, or electronic bulletin board participation is not permitted.

  • On-line computer  games are not permitted unless a teacher has made prior arrangements for educational games with media center staff.

  • Classes have priority for computer use throughout the school day.

  • Computers at CMS may only be used for class assignments and research during regular school hours.  Any student caught on sites not recommended by their instructor will be given a REFERRAL.

CIRCULATION POLICIES:                                                                                 

  • Books : Limit of 2 for two weeks plus one renewal

  • Reference books not be circulated

  • Overdue book fee: $.05 per day

  • Lost book fee: replacement cost of the book

  • Damaged book fee: cost determined by library media center staff
