Black Street Elementary is a Title I
school located in Walterboro, SC. There are 500 students
enrolled in grades K-5. The student body is comprised mainly of
African-American students and teachers
are constantly informed of effective ways of teaching the at-risk
students in their care.
Our mission here at BSE is to join with
parents to develop independent learners and responsible
citizens by providing a variety of educational experiences within a
curriculum which will challenge
the students and promote lifelong learning and which encourages respect
and appreciation for individual differences.
Black Street Elementary's mission is
summed up in our vision statement. At BSE we are dedicated to producing
literate, responsible students who will become productive members of
the community and the broader
society.
